The 21-year-old Australian booked her spot in the final eight with an impressive 6-2 6-1 rout of Croatian world No.167 Jana Fett.
Barty was rarely troubled throughout the 55-minute match and has set herself up for a likely quarterfinal showdown with top-seeded Brit Johanna Konta.
Konta will play her doubles partner Yanina Wickmayer, in the second round, on Thursday.
Also through to the quarters is former Wimbledon semifinalist Tsvetana Pironkova.
The Bulgarian powered past Japan’s Karumi Nara 6-3 6-2, while Croatia’s Donna Vekic is in the final eight after beating American Julia Boserup 6-3 6-4.
