Rafael Nadal has been selected by fellow players as the winner of the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for the fourth straight year in the 2021 ATP Awards. The 35-year-old has now received this honour five times, first triumphing in 2010.
The award recognises the Spaniard’s fair play, professionalism and integrity on and off the court.
“I can’t be happier to receive one more time the Sportsmanship Award from my colleagues on the Tour,” Nadal said. “It means a lot to me, so thanks a lot to every player that thinks that I am the right one to receive this award.

22:51 PHOTOS/VIDEO: 2021 MWTC / Abu Dhabi SF Rafael Nadal vs. Andy Murray |
(Reuters) - Former world number one Andy Murray eased past Rafa Nadal 6-3 7-5 in the Spaniard's comeback match at the World Tennis Championship exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi on Friday to set up a summit clash with Russia's Andrey Rublev. More than five years on from their last meeting, both players made impressive starts but the Scot's superior match practice told as he saved a break point in the third game of the match and then broke himself to easily claim the first set. |

Rafael Nadal has downplayed expectations ahead of the start of the new season and insisted his priority is to "be healthy", as the Spanish tennis great makes his return to the court at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship (MWTC) following a long-term foot injury.
Rafael Nadal called time on his 2021 season in August due to the foot problem, which he admitted had been troubling him for more than a year. It was the latest in a litany of injury issues that have disrupted his extraordinary career. And after a spell of rehabilitation, the 20-time Grand Slam champion has spent the subsequent months "training well".
