Rafael Nadal and Feliciano Lopez carried Spain into the final of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals thanks to a 7-6(3), 7-6(8) triumph over Great Britain’s Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski in a deciding doubles clash on Saturday.
The Spaniards will take on Canada in Sunday’s final where they will be bidding for a sixth Davis Cup crown.

Rafael Nadal and Marcel Granollers survived a nail-biting doubles showdown with Máximo González and Leonardo Mayer to book a semi-final date for Spain against Great Britain at the Davis Cup by Rakuten Madrid Finals on Friday.
After Nadal cancelled out Guido Pella’s three-set victory over Pablo Carreño Busta in the opening match of the tie, by defeating Diego Schwartzman 6-1, 6-2, the world No.1 returned to the court to team up with Granollers for a thrilling 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 success against their Argentine opponents in front of a roaring capacity crowd at Caja Mágica.

Spain clinched their place in the quarter-finals as Roberto Bautista Agut and World No. 1 Rafael Nadal didn't drop a set against Croatia. Bautista Agut, World No. 9, dismissed Nikola Mektic 6-1, 6-3, and Nadal beat Borna Gojo 6-4, 6-3.
“The start of yesterday was not perfect, but here we are – we found a way to win four matches in a row and that sent us through to the quarters, so we’re very happy,” said Nadal, before adding some praise for 21-year-old Gojo.
