History of Babolat
Babolat is a French tennis, badminton, and squash equipment company, founded in 1875 by Pierre Babolat in Lyon, France. The company initially produced natural gut strings for racquets. In 1994, the company entered the tennis racquet market with the introduction of the Babolat Pure Drive, which is still one of the company's most popular racquets.
Babolat has been a pioneer in tennis technology, introducing new materials and designs to improve the performance of its racquets. The company was the first to use carbon fibers in tennis racquets in the early 1970s, and it introduced a new frame design in the late 1990s that incorporated the use of tungsten in key areas of the racquet for added power and stability.
In addition to its racquets, Babolat produces a range of other tennis equipment, including strings, shoes, bags, and accessories. The company is also a sponsor of professional tennis players, including Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and Garbine Muguruza.
