22:04 Rafael Nadal starts a race against the clock to get to London

On Friday, Rafael Nadal visited Dr. Cotorro in Barcelona.
Doctor Angel Ruiz Cotorro will now put Rafa on a rehabilitation programme which gives him the best chance of making London
Dr. Cotorro: "It's neither a new injury nor an aggravated injury. It's a situation similar to what we saw when he came back from Asia. All the MRI images tell us essentially the same: the tendon's suffering [stress overload]. It's been a tough year, with a lot of matches. The tendon's suffering but the images don't show anything different [from those taken after Asia]: it's pain in face of a stress situation. Rafa did the right thing by pulling out. It comes a time when you have to think of other goals. The first thing to be done was to stop and evaluate the status of the knee, [to see] if something new had happened. Now we know that there's nothing new, that it's the same situation he's been dragging for quite some time. Tendons' issues in different situations can bother more or less, but we are going to try to be fit to play in London. If he's OK, he'll play, and if he's not, he'll give up playing. We have to see his progress in next few days." Yesterday Rafa already started a specific treatment that combines physiotherapy, rehabilitation & muscle strengthening to try to get to World Tour Finals
