The Aussie duo, seeded sixth this year at the US Open, take on Russians Natela Dzalamidze and Veronika Kudermetova in the first round.
Speaking to tennis.com.au, Dellacqua said she and Barty were aiming to continue the form that had seen them build a stellar 31-10 win-loss record this year.
“We started in Brisbane and kinda weren’t sure where we were both at, where we were kinda headed,” Dellacqua reflected.
“But we started off the year really well and Europe was really good season for us; we obviously made the final of the French and had some really good success on the grass too. Won a couple of titles this year, so things have been going really well.
“Our goal is to obviously make the Championships at the end of the year and the US Open is a really important tournament for us in that sense.
“Here at the US Open, our main focus is to go as far as we can, and then looking forward obviously to make the Championships.”
