Zverev near certainty to reach Turin SFs
Alexander Zverev is a virtual lock to reach the semi-finals of the Nitto ATP Finals after winning the first set of Friday's singles match with Carlos Alcaraz. Provided the match doesn't end in a retirement, the German is guaranteed to advance to the knockout stages of the season finale, which he has won twice before.
Zverev took the first set 7-6(5) against Alcaraz as he looks to emerge from group play with a perfect 3-0 record.
