Gavrilova upsets Keys in Rome

Daria Gavrilova has rallied from a set down to beat world No.13 Madison Keys in the first round at the Italian Open in Rome.
Gavrilova, who had to qualify to book her place in the clay court event after forgetting to enter the main draw, prevailed 2-6 7-5 7-5 against the American.
Keys, a beaten finalist in this tournament last year, missed the opening two matches of the season following wrist surgery, took the first set in comfortable fashion.
However, Gavrilova, ranked 33 in the world standings, hit back to take the second and broke Keys’ serve to love to take a 6-5 lead in the decider and then sealed victory with an ace on her second match point.
In other news, Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the Italian Open with a hip injury. Australia’s No.1 was scheduled to play Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut in a first round match on Tuesday, but was forced to pull out of his match.
