Shelton Consolidates Fifth-Place Position In Next Gen Race
Ben Shelton consolidated his fifth-placed position (735 points) in the Pepperstone ATP Live Next Gen Race after advancing to the second round at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.
The American enjoyed a breakthrough run to the third round at the ATP Masters 1000 event last year and earned victory in Ohio again this week, defeating Christopher Eubanks before losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The 20-year-old is aiming to make his debut at the Next Gen ATP Finals, with his best result of the year a quarter-final showing at the Australian Open. Shelton is 148 points clear of sixth-placed Luca Van Assche (587 points).
Frenchman Arthur Cazaux has jumped one spot to eighth (415 points) after reaching the quarter-finals at an ATP Challenger Tour event in Winnipeg. The 20-year-old, who is still alive at the tournament, will overtake seventh-placed Alex Michelsen (427 points) if he advances to the semi-finals.
